My Journey

& Philosophy

I have been a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1994. My early work in residential care with children, teenagers, and families shaped my foundational belief in a holistic approach—one that honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit while navigating the complex family dynamics of both past and present.

In 2003, I opened my private practice in Falls Church. Since then, I have had the privilege of partnering with individuals, couples, and families to help them move through life’s challenges toward a more resilient and healthy future.

My work is informed by my belief that we all have strengths and the ability to heal. Sometimes our inner health is buried beneath depression, worry, anger or fear. When this happens, we end up struggling in our daily lives and in our relationships. I believe that by slowing down, gaining insight and creating new pathways that are healthier, we can live more fully and peacefully.

My Clinical Approach

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. From our first session, we will work together to find the right combination of evidence-based treatments to meet your personal goals.

My specialized training includes:

  • Individuals & Trauma: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

  • Couples & Relationships: Certified Gottman Therapist and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

  • Mind-Body Wellness: Mindfulness-based therapies and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Beyond traditional therapy, a significant portion of my practice is dedicated to helping families navigate the complexities of separation and divorce. I believe that even when a relationship ends, it doesn't have to mean disaster for the family.

Depending on your needs, I can serve as:

  • Separation & Divorce Consultant: To help you gain clarity and decide on the best path forward.

  • Mediation Specialist: Assisting with Parenting Plans and difficult decision-making.

  • Collaborative Divorce Coach: Supporting you through the Collaborative Process to maintain respect and integrity for all family members.

My focus is to help you move forward as strong, healthy individuals and cooperative co-parents for your children.

Specialized Divorce & Separation Support

  • Therapy sessions last 50 minutes. Occasionally, we may decide to have longer sessions. We can adjust this as we go.

  • I will ask about what brings you in and about your goals for our work. Together, we will figure out your treatment plan and will adjust this as needed during the course of our work.

  • We can talk about you coming in on your own. I often help people individually with their relationships. However, if I see you individually, it may rule out my ability to help you jointly. This is something we can assess together.

  • You can reach me via the contact page or email. I aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

  • No. I am an out of network provider and take payment at the time of the session. I will provide you with a monthly invoice with all necessary codes and information so that you can submit it to insurance for reimbursement. You should contact your insurance company to ask about your out of network benefits.

  • No, I do not offer sliding scale fees.
